Inspiring Middle School Literacy Reading and Writing in Science and History(http://www.teachersdomain.org/special/adlit/) These self-paced classroom activities are designed to enhance the literacy skills of struggling readers in grades 5–8. Each uses videos, interactive activities, note-taking, reading, and writing to present students with an engaging science or history topic.

I took a look at this site and found it to be very nicely done. It does coordinate with many of the units in our middle school. The level of thinking quesitons is very high. Much better than some questions I find at the end of a textbook chapter. The only problem I had was trying to pull up some of the videos. I think this is probably a streeming issue from our district though.
